Central Otago is well serviced with educational opportunities available through pre school facilities and kindergartens, primary and secondary schools as well as a branch of the Otago Polytechnic.
Alexandra has five pre-school facilities and three primary schools. Dunstan High school is co-educational and also has boarding facilities. Alexandra is also home to the Rural Education Activities Programme (REAP) which provides the district with courses from early childhood through primary and secondary schooling to continuing education for the adult community. Cromwell has three pre-school facilities, two primary schools and a co-educational secondary school. An Otago Polytechnic campus specialises in horticulture, catering and tourism. Ranfurly has a pre-school facility, two primary schools and a co-educational secondary school, and Roxburgh two pre-school facilities and an area school that includes both primary and secondary levels.
There are further primary schools at Millers Flat, Tarras, Clyde, Omakau, Poolburn and Paerau with secondary schooling for these areas met by Alexandra, Cromwell, Roxburgh and Ranfurly. For further information go to schools in the area. |
