 |  |  | Churches Central Otago has a number of church’s across the majority of main stream religious denominations. Most provide support and church activity programmes for people in the community. Many church’s are still in their original stone and brick buildings which are an integral part of the regions heritage. EmergEncy Services
Police, fire and ambulance services are located throughout Central Otago. Roxburgh, Ranfurly, Omakau, Cromwell and Alexandra each have a local Police station. Urban and Rural Fire and Ambulance services are based in strategic locations throughout the district to ensure that all communities receive timely support in times of need.

Government Departments
Many local and national Government Departments have offices located in Central Otago. This makes them easier to access than having to travel to a larger town or city. Alexandra or Cromwell is where most are located, although Central Otago District Council also has Service Centres in Ranfurly and Roxburgh.

Health
Central Otago has a range of health services. There are local medical centres and resident doctors in each of the major urban areas and Dunstan Hospital at Clyde. Geriatric care services, District Nursing plus the majority of other health requirements such as meals on wheels and counselling services are also available.
